Care of Hemp Wonder-Fulls
These inserts are made from completely natural and unprocessed hemp
fabric they must be washed 2-3 times prior to first use (no need
to dry between washes) and then, ideally, tumble-dried on hot. This
will remove any residues, boost their absorbency and shrink them down
to the correct size. They will continue to gain absorbency over the
next few washes. Because hemp is a dense, absorbent fibre these inserts
are slow drying. To ensure they are thoroughly dried they are best tumble-dried,
or line- or hang-dried somewhere warm with good air circulation.
As with other natural fibres, after repeated washing hemp fabric can
become a little stiff. Rubbing them together, partially tumble-drying,
adding a little vinegar (a dessert-spoon-full) to the final rinse or
rinsing in rain water and then spinning (without rinsing again) and
drying as normal will soften them up again.
Care of Microterry
Wonder-Fulls
Wash and tumble dry on hot once before the first use. Then store and
wash with your pocket nappies ~ store dry, wash at 40ºC or 60ºC
and hang to dry or tumble on a low heat setting. Microterry inserts,
unlike cotton or hemp, will remain soft even in hard water areas or
after many washes.
