Swaddlebees Pocketed Organic Velour & Hemp nappies

A new, cleverly designed nappy which gives a customizable and quick-drying way of giving your baby the luxury of organic cotton velour next to her skin. Swaddlebees pocketed shaped nappies are made from two layers of absorbent fabric. These layers are stitched together to form a pocket with an opening at the back. Absorbent pads are placed into the pocket - you can add as much or as little as your baby needs for the occasion, making this a very versatile nappy. The inner layer is made from sumptuous organic cotton velour. The outer layer is made from either organic cotton velour or hemp french terry. Because you can choose the absorbency level of the nappy and the inner layers of absorbency are removable this nappy dries very quickly.

Swaddlebees shaped pocketed nappies benefit from the signature slim cut of the Swaddlebees range. It is narrow across the crotch to reduce the bulk between baby’s legs. The leg openings are high-cut, meaning that the nappy suits babies with slim or chubby thighs equally well. Gentle elastic at the front and back and around the leg openings ensure nothing escapes and they give a close but comfortable fit. The nappy fastens with two poppers on each side, allowing separate adjustment of the waist and leg. Fastening at the side gives the nappy a slim profile and makes it difficult for toddlers to undo their nappy. This nappy can be pulled up and down, making it particularly suitable for potty training toddlers.

Swaddlebees pocketed nappies are available with either an outer layer of stay-soft organic cotton velour or of super-thristy french hemp terry. Both have an inner layer of unbleached organic cotton velour next to the skin. The organic velour option is available in a natural unbleached colour or periwinkle, butter, rose, peach and sage. The hemp options is available in natural unbleached hemp only. The coloured nappies have just the outer layer dyed with low-impact environmentally friendly dyes, and all inner layers and those next to the baby's skin are undyed. They are colourfast and can be washed together with white nappies without colour-run. The hemp option combined with hemp inserts gives a super-quick drying hemp nappy, as the layers come apart to speed drying. The organic velour inner layer makes the hemp nappy an option for those with hard water, as even if the outer hemp layer and hemp inserts tend to get a bit stiff, there will always be a super-soft layer of organic velour next to baby's skin.

Sizing
Swaddlebees shaped pocket nappies are available in three sizes to last from birth to potty. The approximate weight guidleines for the sizes are:
Small 8lb - 14lb (3.6Kg - 6.4Kg)
Medium 12lb - 25lb (5.5Kg - 11.4Kg)
Large 22lb - 40lb (10Kg - 18.2Kg)

Trim fitting and unrestricting for baby, yet suitable for any level of wetting, depending on the inserts used. A relatively expensive option, though can be made cheaper by making your own absorbent inserts to stuff inside the pocket or using cheap small-size prefolds.
Suggested inserts We recommend you use Swaddlebees hemp or microterry inserts with these nappies for the best fit. For medium wetters one insert will suffice. For heavier wetters try two hemp inserts or one microterry and one hemp insert.
Suggested wraps Any of our wraps will work with this nappy.
What else will I need? With this nappy you may choose to have 100% organic cotton next to baby's skin or use stay-dry liners, either disposable or reusable (e.g. fleece). For night time use you will probably need to use two inserts to boost absorbency.
Resale value New nappy so unknown, but likely to be high.
Care Machine wash at 40ºC and hang or tumble dry on medium heat. Colourfast at up to 60ºC and can be washed with white nappies. We recommend that these nappies are dry-pailed, as soaking can cause colour changes. Pre-wash once before use and expect absorbency to increase for a few washes, especially with the hemp nappy.
