Motherease Sandys nappy
Multi-sized shaped terry nappy. Price
from £8.00 or £7.60when
you buy 10 or more (5% discount
off all sizes)
This
stretchy, terry towelling knit nappy is multi-sized, giving a good fit
and level of absorbency for your child at different ages. A very high
performing nappy, it has three inbuilt layers of soft, short-pile terry
between the legs and is made from 85% cotton and 15% polyester for added
durability and softness. It has gentle elastic all around the waist and
legs to ensure good containment. The Sandys fastens with multi-positioned
poppers at the sides, fastening separately for the waist and thigh allowing
a good customized fit. Made in Canada by Motherease.
Sizing
Two-sizes (the small and the large) will suit most babies from birth
to potty. There is also an XS/newborn version for smaller babies or
a very neat fit, and an XL for bigger toddlers or for a night nappy
for older children. The weight ranges for the four sizes are as follows:
Extra-small 6 - 12lb (2.7 - 5.5Kg)
Small 8 - 20lb (3.6 - 9.1Kg)
Large 18 - 35lb (8.2 - 15.9Kg)
Extra-large ('Toddle-ease'): 35lb+
(15.9Kg+)
If your baby is of quite a large build or tall and grows out of the
small size early you might want to consider going straight to the XL
size and missing out the Large.
Options
Available in a creamy natural, unbleached colour in all sizes. White
is available in Small and Large sizes only. The extra soft and luxurious
organic cotton Sandys is available in Small and Large sizes. Organic
cotton has less environmental impact in its production than standard
cotton and makes for a stronger, more flexible and durable fibre. (Click
for more information on why choose organic
fibres.)
Advantages & disadvantages compared
with other shaped multi-sized nappies: Slim fitting and durable. Sizing
allows for good fit, but means you need to buy multiple sizes. Being
quite an absorbent nappy it takes a fairly long time to hang dry. High
in the rise (height) and covers a large area of the nappy area, so lots
of absorbency without being bulky. The leg cuffs come relatively low
down the thighs giving good containment - more of a 'briefs' cut than
a 'bikini' cut!
We think this nappy is hard to beat for containment,
staying in place and slim fit ~ one of our favourites!
What else will I need? You may
choose to use nappy liners (either
disposable or reusable e.g. fleece). You will need outer covers/wraps.
You may also need boosters for heavier wetters or for night times. There
is plenty of room in the nappy for this. Any sit-in style boosters are
suitable, but the Motherease
booster matches the nappy or try the Mother of Eden fleece-topped
microterry booster for
maximim comfort.
Suggested wraps The higher rise (height)
wraps Motherease Rikki or Air
Flow probably suit this nappy best, though Nature
Babies Classic Covers and Tots Bots Fleece
wraps also work provided they are big enough to cover the nappy
well e.g. the medium Nature Babies wrap would be best over the small
sandy's nappy on 'average' sized babies.
Re-sale value Good.
Care Machine wash at 40ºC
or up to 70ºC and hang or tumble dry on medium heat. Click
