'Nappies by Minki' - Minki pocket nappies
Stay-dry, multi-sized pocket nappy. Price
from £9.99
A cuddly pocket nappy available in a range of attractive patterns -
ideal for showing off that cloth bottom! These nappies have a stay-dry
fleece inner layer next to baby's skin and a waterproof, breathable
PUL layer to keep wetness inside but allow some air exchange. This forms
a pocket into which an absorbent pad (pocket nappy insert) is placed
to soak up the wetness and trap it inside the nappy, away from baby's
skin. On the outside is a layer of fleece to make the nappy cuddly and
fun. The fleece outer layer also makes the nappy more resistant to wetness
wicking through through to clothing , making this a good pocket nappy
for night time.
As with all PUL/fleece pocket nappies these dry quickly, and the absorbency
can be easily adjusted to suit the child and the occasion, making them
a very versatlie nappy. They fasten with Aplix (like Velcro) making
them quick and easy to put on, so ideal for when out and about or for
those not familiar with cloth nappies.
Sizing
Minki pocket nappies are available in small, medium, large and extra-large.
The following gives a guide to the weight range for each size:

Medium 14 - 20lb (6.4 - 9.1Kg)
Large 18 - 40lb (9.1 - 18.2Kg)
XL 40lb + (18.2Kg +)
Options
Available with a range of fleece outers from cute and cuddly to bold
and funky! Please see the order page for
the available patterns.
There are two styles of Minki pocket nappies.
Standard Minki (below) The Standard
Minki is generously cut, making it high in the rise (i.e. it comes up
high on the waist), the waist tabs overlap giving a wide range of width
settings and allows for more absorbency to be put inside the pocket.
These features make this style particularly suitable for chunky babies,
heavy wetters and for a night time pocket nappy.
Slinki
Minki (right) The Slink Minki gives a trimmer fit. It is lower
in the rise, slimmer across the bottom and the waist tabs meet in the
middle rather than crossing over, making the nappy less bulky at the
waist. This nappy is more suitable for daytime use, for slimmer babies
and toddlers or for when you might want a trimmer nappy (e.g. playtimes).
Summary information
An attractive, easy to use pocket nappy.
Advantages and disadvantages
of Minkis over other pocket nappies: Quick and easy to fasten with Aplix
tabs and good adjustability at the waist. Takes very slightly longer
than other pocket nappies to dry but still dries very quickly. The thick
fleece outer layer makes Minkis less trim fitting than PUL outer pocket
nappies, but very cute and cuddly looking, and more resistant to wicking.
The Standard Minki is an excellent night time pocket nappy. The
longer pile fleece inner is slightly more prone to staining than other
pockets nappies. The elastic can be a little unyielding but makes for
good containment. Multisized so you will need to purchase several sizes
as you baby grows.
What else will I need?
No liners or waterproof wraps are needed with these nappies, but you
will need pocket nappy inserts.
Suggested inserts
Mother of Eden microterry
inserts & Wonder-Fulls
inserts both work well.
Re-sale value Very
good.
