This nappy is becoming reknowned as a highly effective night nappy. It is appropriately named, being made from luxurious 100% long loop pile Egyptian cotton, making it soft and very cuddly. It fastens around the waist with poppers and the 'wings' can be crossed over to fit a huge range of waist sizes. The nappy is completely lined on the inside with fluffy white fleece which is soft against baby's skin and will keep him feeling dry, even overnight. Generously cut to give good coverage over the nappy area, the absorbency of this nappy surpasses anything similar we have tried.

The inner fleece layer and the outer terry layer form a pocket with an opening at the back. There is a booster flap attached at the back of the nappy that is pushed into the pocket when the nappy is in use and is pulled out for washing and to speed up drying. If neccessary extra boosters can also be placed into the pocket, maintaining the stay-dry fleece layer against baby's skin.

The high absorbency of the Huggle means that it is slow to dry and will take a couple of days to dry indoors unless you hang it above a radiator, or tumble-dry it. Also, it is not slim fitting, though this isn't really an issue at night time, provided your little one has roomy pyjamas! Because of its slow drying speed and bulkiness this nappy is not generally suitable as a day nappy. However it makes an excellent, reliable and comfortable night nappy.

We have recommended this nappy to several parents who have been using disposable nappies at night but experiencing persistent leaking, with excellent results. The XL Huggle makes a reliable nappy for bigger toddlers and young children who may still wet at night long after they are dry in the day. See below for our recommended wrap, as most XL wraps will not fit over the XL Huggle satisfactorily.

Options
Available in a huge variety of lovely colours but colours are supplied to us randomly so we cannot guarantee what will be available. The colours include silver grey, cream, soft pink, dusky pink, bright pink, lavender, aqua, soft green, burgundy, bright blue, charcoal, navy blue, peach, red, rusty red, coffee, sand, soft yellow and so on. The nappies have colour-coordinated poppers. When ordering you can select the options:
'Girly!' if you would like a pinky colour, 'Boy/Unisex' if you don't want pink,
'Pale/Pastel' if you'd like only light coloured terry or
'Bright' if you would like brighter or deeper terry colours.
You can select more than one option. If you have a very specific colour preference also state this in the 'additional information' box at the checkout and we will do our best to accommodate it. Please note, the attached booster that goes inside the pocket may be a different colour to the nappy, though it is always a coordinated colour.

Important Please note 'Bright' Huggles will need to be washed with other dark colours for the first few washes as colours may run in the wash.

Advantages & disadvantages compared with other shaped nappies: Very absorbent, soft and comfortable. A super-reliable night nappy, suitable for even the heaviest wetters. Bulky, though this does not seem to be problematic for night nappies.
What else will I need? With this nappy a disposable nappy liner is not necessary, though you may choose to use one if your baby tends to poo in their night nappy. Most babies tend not to poo during the night after the first few months. However, waking up is a powerful stimulant to the bowel, and some babies poo first thing in the morning. You are unlikely to need to boost this nappy, though you might need to do this with particularly heavy wetters. Any boosters are suitable except those with a stay-dry layer on top. You will need an outer cover/wrap - see below for recommendations.
Suggested wraps This is a big nappy which is relatively high in the rise (height) and will need a roomy wrap, maybe even the next size up from that your child usually uses during the day.
For the small size nappy we recommend the following: Motherease Rikki (M) or Air Flow (M), Nature Babies Classic Covers (M).
For the large Huggle nappy we would recommend either the Large size in the above wraps or the XL size for those at the higher end of the nappy weight range.
For the XL Huggle: For smaller children in the XL Huggle the XL airflow will cover it. We do not currently have a wrap that will cover the XL nappy on larger children.
Second hand value Good.
Care Machine wash at up to 50ºC (bright colours spearately initially) and hang to dry in a warm place or tumble dry on medium heat. Click for more care information.

Made in Scotland, UK, by work at home seamstresses. Please note that as these nappies are individually made from towelling offcuts rather than factory produced there may be some variation in their appearance e.g. the internal soaker may vary in size.
