What size Fuzzi Bunz will I need? How do I fit them?

Babies come in different shapes and sizes and two babies of the same weight may be very different shapes, at different ages and stages of development. The following size guidelines provided by the manufacturer were based on measurements taken from many different babies and should help you to choose the perfect size of Fuzzi Bunz for your baby. Preemie / extra-small
For premature or small babies from 4 - 12lb (1.8 - 4.5Kg). Comes complete with its own extra-small insert included in the price. Extra small Fuzz Bunz are for either preemie or very small babies - they will fit newborns very well but will not fir for a very long time. They are useful nappies for maternity and neonatal hospitals.

Small
For new babies (though they may be a little on the big side at first) until up to 6 or 8 months of age depending on the baby's weight and build. Weight range 7 - 18lb (3.2 - 8.2Kg), thigh 5 - 10 inches (12.5 - 25.5 cm) circumference.

Medium
For babies aged from 4 months until 12 months or longer depening on weight and build. Medium Fuzzi Bunz will fit some babies until potty training. Weight range 15 - 30lb (6.8 - 13.6Kg). Medium will fit babies with either small or large thighs (9 - 13 inches, 25.5 - 33cm).

Large
Usually won't fit children until they are 12 months or older or if they are in the weight range or are very tall. They will fit until 3 years or more depending on weight and build. Weight range 30 - 45lb+ (13.6 - 20.5Kg+), thigh 12 - 16 inches (28 - 35.5cm).

Petite toddler Currently unavailable
A specialty size for children aged from as early as 10 months until 3+ years that are very much on the slim side. Weight range 20 - 30lb (9.1 - 13.6Kg), thigh 9 - 12 inches (23 - 30.5cm).

Extra large Currently unavailable
A specialty size nappy designed for toddlers with a very large build or older children aged approximately 3 - 5 years. Weight range 45lb+ (20.5Kg+), thigh 15 - 18+ inches.

XXL Currently unavailable
A very large nappy suitable for older children who need a nappy at night. There are five poppers at the waist and six at the leg making it very adjustable. The usual inserts will not be sufficient for this nappy so try a pad-folded 60 x 60 terry square with a large microterry insert on top or a large hemp insert.

Fitting Fuzzi Bunz
A few tips to help you make these nappies work best for your little one.
When you put the insert inside the nappy make sure it lies flat so there won't be leaks round the edges. Put any boosters in the place where your baby seems to need it most (i.e. where the nappy is most wet usually when you take it off, usually underneath or at the front).

When fastening on the Fuzzi Bunz do up the leg popper on one side first, then the waist popper and repeat for the other side. Make the leg and waist settings snug, but they don't need to be tight. When the nappy is in place run your fingers round the leg inside the leg casing and roll the fleece side of the nappy out, so that it is fleece only that is touching baby's skin. This will not cause leaks, on the contrary this will help to prevent leaks caused by wicking.

Measuring Your Baby

To measure your baby's thighs

Measure where the elastic of a nappy would normally be - around the meatiest part of the baby's thigh.

To measure your baby's rise

Measure from mid-back at the waistline to slightly below his belly where his/her napy normally would come up to.

*Please note: These measurements take into consideration only one insert in the Fuzzi Bunz at a time. Many babies will need more than one insert at times. Always try your new Fuzzi Bunz on your baby with an insert for size before washing / using.
