Flat nappies
Our range of terries, muslins and prefolds.
Whilst perhaps not the most convenient nappies
in some respects, flat nappies do have their advantages. Firstly they
are the most economical option to buy. It can be worth having a few
just for those "Help! I've run out of nappies" moments is
nothing else. Secondly they are very quick drying, making them economical
to use, very eco-friendly and handy if you don't have or wish to use
a tumble dryer. If you were going camping for example, terry squares
would be ideal for drying on your guy ropes! Finally they are very versatile:
they can be folded to suit different baby's needs. Finally they are
handy for lots of things other than nappies, such as mopping up accidents
or spills, folded into a pad and used to stuff pocket nappies or as
a booster for shaped nappies, an extra-large bib... the list is endless.
Folding terries or muslins can take a little practice and
patience, though it's not rocket-science! Most of our mothers managed
it successfully. They are however, the most fiddly nappies to put on
and so may not be ideal for wriggly toddlers (unless you're an expert)
or for people endowed with less patience! Nappi Nippas do make fixing
them in place much easier and safer than pins, but flat nappies probably
wouldn't be first choice if other people are looking after your baby.
Your mother may become nostalgic as she folds a terry square again or
she may think you are completely mad and buy you a pack of disposables!

Muslins
Multipurpose soft, absorbent muslin
squares
There are so many uses for cotton square muslins. They are popular for
use as newborn nappies, because newborns need changing so frequently
and muslins dry so quickly, allowing a quick laundry turnaround time.
They can be folded like a terry square and fastened with a Nappi Nippa,
or folded into a rectangular pad and held in place with a gussetted
wrap such as the Imse Vimse wraps.
They can also be used boosters for nappies (folded), as blankets, burp
cloths for over your shoulder, and for clean-ups. Later, when your baby
is bigger they can be used folded into a pad as boosting for shaped
or pocket nappies. Eventually they will make great cleaning cloths so
absolutely no waste with these!

Prefold nappies
from Nappy Nation
Bamboo or stay dry prefold nappy.
These soft and absorbent nappies are great for those wishing to go back
to basics with their nappying, or who are looking for a very economical
option. There are 2 options - either a lush bamboo fabric that has a
soft luxuruous feel to it and is very absorbent, or a stay dry prefold
- one side is cotton terry and the other is made from a stay dry material
- ideal for use when baby is to be laid directly onto the pad. The prefolds
are sectioned into 3 and the middle section has more layers so that
it can be folded along the panel seams to give good absorbency across
the whole pad, or folded across the seams to give maximum absorbency
in the middle of the nappy that sits underneath the baby where the absorbency
may be most needed. The back of the prefold can be splayed out to help
with catching solids and the front can be nippa-ed into place on small
babies if preferred. Prefolds can be used with any gussetted wraps such
as the Imse Vimse wraps, Motherease
Rikki wraps or Nature Babies wraps.
Use a liner to protect nappy and baby - lay the liner on top or wrap
around the folded prefold pad. Prefolds also make excellent inserts
for pocket nappies or boosters for any type of nappy, so a set of these
will come in handy whatever nappies you choose.
Available singularly in either bamboo or stay dry option and in two
sizes: Small (Size 1) and Large (Size 2)
