Boosters and liners for cloth nappies

Boosters Boosters are simply a pad made from a number of layers of absorbent fabric that sit in or popper into a nappy to increase absorbency. All our boosters are versatile enough to be used in all our shaped nappies. They can also be used to boost the absorbency of pocket nappies (unless the booster has a stay-dry layer) and in the same way most pocket nappy inserts can also make excellent boosters.
Liners As the name suggests, liners line the nappy, next to baby's skin, to catch solids and/or keep skin dry, depending upon the fabric they are made from. See below for further details about nappy liners.
Booster/liner combos Some boosters are topped with a lining fabric, making them a liner and booster in one. With these there is no need to use a paper liner, though of course you can if you like.

Motherease 'sit in' boosters
Terry pad to boost nappy absorbency.
These soft-knit terry boosters simply sit inside the Motherease Sandy's, Toddle-ease, Multifit, All-in-One or other brand of nappy adding extra absorbency. The regular (12.5cm x 30cm) holds an extra 170ml and the large (14cm x 35cm) an extra 200ml. Available in white or unbleached cotton, stay dry fabric, organic cotton and bamboo. The Stay Dry booster offers the same absorbency as the other Motherease boosters but is topped with a stay-dry polyester layer which allows wetness through into the terry but is not absorbent so dries quickly, helping to keep baby's skin dry.

Motherease Snap In boosters
Terry pad to popper into Motherease One Size nappy system to boost absorbency £1.85 - £2.95.
Snap-in boosters simply popper in to the front of the Motherease One Size nappies to increase their absorbency. Available in white or unbleached cotton, stay dry fabric, bamboo or the new organic cotton booster. The Stay Dry booster offers the same absorbency as the other Motherease boosters but is topped with a stay-dry polyester layer which allows wetness through into the terry but is not absorbent so dries quickly, helping to keep baby's skin dry. Many children will need boosters in the Motherease One Size nappies after the first few months and most will need them once they are toddlers. Motherease boosters are very slim and surprisingly absorbent. Size approx. 14cm x 35cm.

Motherease Stay Dry boosters
Polyester-topped terry pad to boost absorbency and keep skin drier.
The Stay Dry booster offers the same absorbency as the other Motherease boosters but is topped with a stay-dry polyester layer which allows wetness through into the terry but is not absorbent so dries quickly, helping to keep baby's skin dry. Designed to help combat nappy rash or for babies transferring from disposables to washables. Available in 'sit in' (12.5cm x 30cm) or 'snap in' (14cm x 35cm) style.

Bamboo terry booster
Soft bamboo terry pad to boost absorbency for any nappy type
A slim absorbent booster made from three layers of soft bamboo terry in a rectangular-shaped pad with rounded edges. Size 1 approx. 9.5cm x 28cm long, size 2 approx. 11cm x 29cm. Available in a natural cream colour.

Imse Vimse Organic Cotton Boosters
Hourglass-shaped boosters to increase absorbency
Ideal for heavier wetters or at night time to tailor baby's nappy to suit the occasion. Simply place on top of the nappy, next to baby's skin or under a liner. Imse Vimse offer a choice of boosters made from the softest 100% organic brushed cotton, or from 100% organic cotton terry. Imse Vimse boosters are hourglass-shaped and come in natural cotton colour. Size approx. 40 x 12cm. Wash with nappies. They can be safely washed at up to 90ºC though this washing temperature will not normally be required).

Nature Babies terry booster and fleece-topped booster
Soft terry pad to boost absorption.
A slim, hour-glass shaped booster pad made from three layers of soft, unbleached terry. Suitable to boost pocket nappies or shaped nappies. Also available in a stay-dry option, with two layers of terry and topped with an ultra-slim, soft white fleece to keep baby's skin dry. Suitable to boost shaped nappies (but not pocket nappies) with no need for a separate liner. Available in natural unbleached cotton only. Size approx. 12cm x 32cm long.

Easy Peasy Terry Booster
A rectangular terry pads to boost absorbency.
A booster made from three layers of soft white cotton terry. Designed for boosting Bumbles, but suitable for use in any nappy. Offers excellent value for money. Size 14cm x 30cm.

Easy Peasy Hemp Boosters
A rectangular hemp pad for extra absorbency.
A booster made from six layers of hemp jersey fabric. Designed for boosting Bumbles, but suitable for use in any nappy. These boosters are trim and absorbent, making them ideal for when your baby is in a nappy for longer than usual, such as nap-time or night time. Offer good value for money. Size 14cm x 30cm.

Microterry boosters
Soft, absorbent, microfibre pad suitable for boosting all nappy types
These booster pads are made from two layers of microterry, a highly absorbent synthetic fibre. Microterry stays soft despite repeated washing and drying. Because microterry absorbs up to seven times its own weight, the pads are absorbent yet slim, so they make absorbent boosters if you don't want to add too much bulk to the nappy. Suitable to boost any nappies (two-part or pocket nappies). Rectangular in shape, size approx: 14cm x 33cm). One of our favourite booster pads because they stay so soft!

Fleece-topped microterry boosters
Very soft, absorbent, fleece-topped microfibre pad suitable for all two part nappies
These booster pads are made from two layers of microterry, a highly absorbent synthetic fibre. Microterry stays soft despite repeated washing and drying. Because microterry absorbs up to seven times its own weight, the pads are absorbent yet slim, so they make absorbent boosters if you don't want to add too much bulk to the nappy. The top layer is made from the softest fleece to keep baby dry and give a comfortable layer next to baby's skin. Suitable to boost any shaped nappies (but not pocket nappies) with no need for a separate liner. Rectangular in shape, size approx: 14cm x 33cm). One of our favourite booster pads because they stay so soft!

Hemp boosters from Swaddlebees
Absorbent trim hemp boosters for any type of nappy

Ideal booster for any kind of nappy. Swaddlebees one-size hemp booster is made with 4 layers of organic cotton/hemp fleece. These boosters will fit perfectly inside a Swaddlebees hemp pocket nappy insert to make it quick and easy to pop inside the nappy. They will also fit underneath the 'flap-out'booster of the Swaddlebees shaped nappies or other nappies. They measure approx. 33cm x 9cm (13" x 3.5") but will shrink slightly in length in the first few washes.

Liners

Liners are available in a number of fabrics for different purposes. We stock a variety of fleece liners, silk liners and paper liners.
Fleece liners Suitable for lining shaped nappies (not pocket nappies, which already have a fleece layer). Polyester fleece (just like in your jacket) does not absorb moisture but allows it to flow through into the absorbent nappy and then dries very quickly, maintaining a soft, dry layer against your baby's bottom. You will need to change the liner at each nappy change, whether it is soiled or not. Stretch over the loo and allow solids to drop off and rinse if necessary before washing. Non-staining. Simply wash with your nappies. Reusable liners work out as more economical than paper liners.
Silk liners are usually used for silk's natural healing properties rather than an everyday liner.
Biodegradable "paper" liners Flushable liners made from cellulose are designed to make removing the solids from the nappy easier and keeping nappy soiling to a minimum. Simply remove from the nappy and flush away. Can be used with any type of nappies, including pocket nappies (though the stay-dry effect of the fleece or polyester lining will be reduced as the paper stays damp).

Shaped Ultra-slim fleece
Slim, stay-dry fleece liner.
These soft, white microfleece liners are very slim so will not add bulk to your nappies. They are hour-glass-shaped to give good coverage over the nappy area without creasing up between the legs. These offer excellent value for money. Available in white. Size approx. 12cm at narrowest point, 16cm at widest point x 32cm long. Wash and dry with your nappies. As will all fleece liners, do not use greasy nappy cream.

Rectangular Fleece liners
Stay-dry fleece nappy liner
These liners are rectangular in shape, ideal for giving better protection around the leg cuffs of the nappy. They are made from a slim fleece and will not add bulk to your nappy. Size approx. 13cm x 31cm long (some variation + or - 1cm). Available in white. Wash and dry with your nappies. As with all fleece liners, do not use greasy nappy cream. Suitable for use in all nappies that do not have a stay dry layer such as Tots Bots two part nappies.

Silk liners
100% silk liner from Disana.
Silk is a natural healer, helping to prevent or relieve nappy rash. It's useful to have a few of these Bourette silk liners in for occasional use, to help to clear up nappy rash or soreness that all babies will probably have at some point during their nappyhood. If your baby has sensitive skin and frequently has nappy rash you can use these as your main nappy liner to help prevent irritation. Must be washed at 30 degrees (or they shrink - take my word for it!). Dry flat naturally for best results. These do not feel silky like a scarf but are made from knitted natural silk. Size 15cm x 45cm. Made by Disana.

Supersoft Ultra Bambinex flushable nappy liners
300 thick, supersoft flushable nappy liners.
Luxuriously soft and strong biodegradable liners which are the perfect size to fit into most nappies without folding. Porous enough to catch even quite liquid 'solids'. Non-chlorine bleached. Flushable one sheet at a time. Fully biodegradable and suitable for septic tanks. Available in packs of three rolls, 100 liners per roll, size 30cm long, 13cm wide).

Biodegradable flushable nappy liners from Imse Vimse
Rolls of soft, flushable paper nappy liners.
These flushable liners made by Imse Vimse are soft and strong and give good coverage of the nappy area. These liners are porous and allow liquid to pass through whilst retaining solids away from the nappy and they can be easily folded to suit all sizes of baby and types of nappy. Biodegradable, flushable, compostable and suitable for use with septic tanks, these liners offer excellent value for money and can even be washed and reused a couple of times if only wet.

Imse Vimse flushable liners are available in a Baby size with 200 liners per pack (size approx. 28cm long, 20cm wide) or a Toddler size with 100 liners per pack (size approx. 39cm long, 20cm wide) to give more coverage for older toddlers and children from around 18 months.

Biodegradable flushable nappy liners
Roll of soft, flushable paper nappy liners. Comes in rolls of 100 or 200
These flushable liners are soft and strong and give good coverage of the nappy area. They can be folded to suit newborn babies. Being quite porous they are particularly good for catching newborn or runny poo. Biodegradable and compostable. Offer excellent value for money. Size approx. 34cm long, 22cm wide.

Biodegradable ultra nappy liners/wipes
Roll of 100 thick, reusable paper nappy liners.
These paper nappy liners from Little Green Earthlets are thicker than other liners so can be washed and reused if only wet. They have the advantage of doubling up as baby wipes (when wet) for cleaning hands and faces as well as at nappy changing. Non-chlorine bleached, biodegradable and compostable and can even be washed and reused if only wetted. Flushable one sheet at a time only. Size approx. 35cm long, 16.5 cm wide.
